Our inclination to shoot for parental perfection is understandable given the quantity of information that we’ve access nowadays. But over-parenting can result in more anxiety than there should be. Understanding how to enjoy your son or daughter — and allow him to have some fun, too — won’t result in the experience more enjoyable, it will likely be a great benefit for your child’s development.
We are Inside It TOGETHER
Being a parent is a huge change — larger than many anticipate. This aspect, by itself, can result in negativity, as it is very easy to feel lost and ineffectual. Any change is difficult that people deal with — but especially difficult is a which involves responsibility for an additional existence (particularly a screaming, crying, bodily-fluid-producing one). Even past the baby days, a college-aged child can instruct another group of challenges, like scheduling activities, restricting screen-time, discipline, and homework management.
But childhood passes fast. The first times of colic and diapers cave in to figures and tea parties, to school applications, to proms, and, finally, to empty-nesting. Approaching being a parent like a process can keep you sane through everything. Work hard at it although not too seriously. As harrowing because the bad occasions are, bear in mind they too shall pass — and also the good occasions pass just like rapidly.
