Baby and Mom times When road-tripping having a baby you should plan in advance when it comes to feeding and bladder size – but what you should frequently forget would be to also make similar allowances for that adults within the vehicle. Over Easter time we visited buddies in Sydney – who’d kindly were built with a rental vehicle seat fitted (a non-current timepiece maxi-cosi) to help keep out 4 month old daughter safe. The vehicle set was completely new, still using the tags hanging off it also it was our try to return in within the same condition and reclaim our security deposit.
Soon after nights relaxing lower by the pool, we trigger to Sydney – four adults along with a baby crammed right into a hatchback ready for any three hour drive. We’ve in regards to a three hour window between feeds and that’s the period of our drive – so no stops, no bathroom breaks and we’re golden.
The infant was all secure in her own hire seat and didn’t grumble the entire way. Her auntie Katie alternatively hand… With simply 30min left within the drive she declares “I can’t allow it to be. Basically don’t pee soon, I’ll burst!”
And thus we stop, waking the infant who demands to become given, meaning 30 minutes chilling out within the gas station carpark breathing fumes since the bathrooms were too vile to think about. Obviously about 100 metres after pulling from the gas station an ominous rumbling hails from the vehicle seat.
Being this type of well fitted vehicle seat, the infant was wedged in tight – combined with the items in a all of a sudden full nappy…
5 minutes later we’re waiting in a McDonalds carpark, the pristine vehicle seat, the infant and me all covered in yellow goo. A truckload of baby wipes and 30 minutes later we finally allow it to be home. Thankfully the maxi-cosi seats are extremely simple to disassemble and clean, the provider was none the smarter. But simply in situation, the next time we journey using these buddies we may play a pack of Depends plus the Huggies. ?
